The Blackstars coach Carlos Queiroz has assured Ghanaians that the Black Stars will give everything on the pitch when the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Portuguese trainer, who is preparing to lead Ghana to its fifth appearance at the global showpiece since debuting in 2006, delivered an emotional message to fans ahead of the tournament.
Queiroz is currently in the United Kingdom with a section of the Black Stars squad as preparations continue for the international friendly against Wales on June 2.
The match forms part of Ghana’s build-up to the World Cup as the technical team finalises its squad for the competition.
In a statement shared on social media, the coach acknowledged the enormity of the challenge ahead but insisted his side is ready to fight for the nation.
“Today, with 24 days remaining before our first World Cup challenge, we begin what many may call a Mission (Im)possible,” Queiroz wrote.
“We know the price that must be paid — sacrifice, discipline, relentless effort, and total dedication — if we are to honour the dreams and expectations of the people of Ghana.”
The former Portugal and Iran coach stressed the importance of unity, commitment and resilience as Ghana aims to make an impact on football’s biggest stage.
“If our dream is to make the difference at the end, we have to start by being different at the beginning,” he added.
“And when the mission is to serve the pride, prestige, and football soul of Ghana, pain becomes a privilege, sacrifice becomes duty, and commitment becomes our identity.”
Queiroz concluded his message with a rallying call to supporters, promising that the team would battle for every moment during the tournament.
“We are ready to fight together for every ball, every moment, for our dream. One Team. 33 million hearts. One heartbeat. The journey starts now. Enjoy it!” he said.
The Black Stars are expected to intensify preparations in the coming weeks as anticipation builds among fans ahead of the World Cup.
