Sources at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have confirmed that former BOST CEO, Edwin Provencal, is in custody and under investigation.
He was reportedly arrested at Kotoka International Airport on Monday, November 10, while trying to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique, without the required clearance.
The arrest follows growing scrutiny of BOST’s activities, amid the government’s push for greater accountability in state-owned companies.
Mr. Provencal, who previously supervised major segments of Ghana’s petroleum supply and storage operations, was detained to safeguard the integrity of EOCO’s investigation, according to officials familiar with the matter.
The sources said the move was precautionary, adding that no additional details on the probe’s scope or findings were being released at this stage.
