It is anticipated that on Monday, September 29, 2025, Samuel George, the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, will speak to the media over the ongoing dispute with MultiChoice Ghana, the DStv operators, regarding the decrease of subscription fees.

In order to assess DStv pricing in Ghana, the Minister instructed the National Communications Authority (NCA), the regulator, to form a stakeholder committee.

The committee’s report is scheduled to be presented on Monday, September 29, 2025.

In order to address concerns expressed by Samuel George, Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, the committee was tasked with creating a common understanding of DStv pricing in Ghana and suggesting measures that are both acceptable and commercially feasible. The committee’s work began on September 8, 2025.

The Minister will discuss the committee’s findings during the briefing, which included a study of DStv’s pricing structure and recommendations for business-friendly policies that the government and the corporation could agree upon.

With DStv rebuffing calls for price cuts and the Minister threatening suspension on many occasions, the engagement aims to shed light on the situation and possibly end the deadlock.
