Security forces are now closely monitoring the situation to prevent any further disruptions during the re-run.

A strong police presence has been deployed at the Prempeh College Assembly Hall in the Ashanti Region ahead of a re-run of the Council of State election.

The move comes in response to disturbances that disrupted the initial voting process, with authorities taking additional security measures to ensure a smooth and safe election.

The need for heightened security follows an incident on Tuesday, 11 February, when a group of individuals caused chaos at the polling station, halting the election proceedings.

The disruption raised concerns among local officials and voters, prompting immediate intervention by law enforcement to restore order.

In the wake of the disturbances, the Ashanti Regional Caucus in Parliament condemned the violence, urging the government to take swift action against those responsible for the unrest.
