President John Mahama has promised immediate intervention to resolve the dangerous river crossing that pupils in the Asuokow community, Eastern Region, must navigate daily to access education.

In a post on Facebook on Sunday, February 9, Mahama confirmed that the community had been identified and steps were being taken to provide a lasting solution. He stated that the Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim, Owen Kwame Frimpong, visited Asuokow earlier in the day and assured residents that the Eastern Regional Minister would also visit to help address the issue.

“The community has been identified, and we are taking urgent and permanent action to resolve the challenges faced by the people, particularly the school children,” Mahama said.

The  president reiterated that his “Reset Ghana” agenda aims to eliminate barriers to education and healthcare, ensuring equal opportunities for all Ghanaians.

“Our goal with Reset Ghana is to remove obstacles that hinder access to education and healthcare across the country,” he added.
