The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has suspended its planned nationwide strike following engagements with government over concerns raised by the association.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its National President, Mr. Samuel Afotey Otu, JUSAG said the decision was taken after government addressed key issues and outlined a payment plan.

“The planned strike has been suspended pending implementation of the payment plan by government,” the statement said.

The association has therefore directed all Judicial Service staff to resume their normal duties while leadership closely monitors the progress of the agreed implementation measures.

“Staff of the Judicial Service are accordingly admonished to attend to their normal duties as we monitor progress of implementation,” the statement added.

The suspension brings temporary relief to court users nationwide, following fears that a strike could disrupt judicial proceedings across the country.
