The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the nominees for the NASCO Player of the Month award for April/May in the Access Bank Division One League following a series of outstanding individual performances across the three zones.
The three players shortlisted for the award are Samuel Adonteng of Port City, Nicholas Amekpewu of Elmina Sharks, and Mohammed Kamil Suleman of Northern City.
The trio impressed with their consistency, goal-scoring ability, and match-winning contributions during the final stretch of the season.
Samuel Adonteng earned his nomination after a brilliant run of form for Port City in Zone Three. The forward scored five goals in five matches and played a key role in his side’s strong performances.
His impact on games also saw him win three NASCO Player of the Match awards during the period under review.
In Zone Two, Elmina Sharks striker Nicholas Amekpewu emerged as one of the standout performers in the league.
The prolific forward registered seven goals in six matches, helping his side maintain momentum in a highly competitive campaign.
His impressive displays also earned him three NASCO Player of the Match awards, underlining his importance to the team.
Northern City’s Mohammed Kamil Suleman was also recognised for his contributions in Zone One. Suleman scored six goals and produced several influential performances to help his side in crucial matches.
He additionally claimed one NASCO Player of the Match award during the period.
The NASCO Player of the Month award is aimed at recognising exceptional performances in the Access Bank Division One League and rewarding players who consistently excel for their clubs throughout the season.
According to the GFA, the winner of the April/May award will receive a NASCO 24-inch television set as the ultimate prize.
The announcement of the nominees has generated excitement among fans and clubs, with all three players considered deserving contenders after their impressive performances in recent weeks.
