Director of Bullet TV and host of Atinka TV’s Missing Persons programme, Nana Adwoa Annan, has called for stronger collaboration among the media, security agencies, social welfare institutions, and communities to improve efforts to locate missing persons, especially children.

Speaking at the Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation and Tobinco Media Group’s Missing Persons Forum 2026, she highlighted the vital role television and public vigilance have played in reuniting missing individuals with their families.

“Thanks to the power of television, the Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation, and the watchful eyes of everyday citizens, we have tracked down the lost and brought them home,” she stated.

Nana Adwoa Annan stressed that every missing child case should be treated as an emergency, requiring immediate attention and coordinated action from all stakeholders.

“A missing child is an emergency,” she emphasised.

She advocated for the establishment of a rapid-response network that brings together the Ghana Police Service, the Department of Social Welfare, the media, and community members to ensure swift information sharing and timely intervention whenever a person goes missing.

“To bring them home quickly, we need a fast, strong network where the police, social welfare, and the community work hand-in-hand,” she said.

According to her, public participation remains one of the most effective tools in resolving missing persons cases, urging citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any useful information that could assist in locating missing individuals.

The Missing Persons Forum 2026, organised by the Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation in collaboration with Tobinco Media Group, served as a platform to raise awareness about missing persons cases and promote stronger partnerships aimed at protecting vulnerable persons and reuniting families.
