Some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency have rejected a newly introduced register album intended for the party’s upcoming polling station executives election, insisting that the old register should be maintained.

The aggrieved members, led by the constituency researcher, Mr. Dominic Dankwa, accused the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Kwabena Boateng, of allegedly removing some party members from the old register album.

According to Mr. Dankwa, the MP and some party executives are attempting to intimidate members who oppose decisions surrounding the new register.

He further alleged that certain individuals were being used to suppress dissenting voices within the constituency.

“We will not accept the new register album unless issues surrounding the old register are addressed,” he stressed.

The concerned party members are therefore calling on the national and regional leadership of the NPP to intervene and help resolve the matter to ensure fairness and unity within the constituency.

Meanwhile, the Ejisu Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kofi Ampofo Agyapong, also expressed dissatisfaction over what he described as disrespectful treatment from the MP following disagreements regarding decisions taken on the register.

According to him, tensions within the constituency have deepened due to differences over the handling of the electoral album ahead of the polling station elections.

The development is expected to draw the attention of party leadership as preparations continue for internal NPP elections across the country.
