Kwabena Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, says mounting pressure and political challenges could threaten his bid to retain his seat in the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.
In a Facebook post, Boateng expressed uncertainty about his chances of securing another term, citing what he suggested were efforts working against him. “Looking at what is being done to me now, I may or may not succeed in the fight to secure my next term in Parliament,” he wrote.
Despite the challenges, Boateng said he had served the NPP diligently and with integrity. “Whatever happens to me, I know I served my dear NPP well with my gift and strength. The good thing is that I did nothing wrong,” he added, describing the situation as “sad” and expressing a sense of helplessness.

Boateng is widely known as a strong supporter of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong during the NPP’s recent presidential primaries. His comments come amid reports that supporters of the party’s flagbearer, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, are mobilizing within the Ejisu constituency in a bid to unseat him.
There has been no official response from party leadership or Bawumia’s supporters regarding the allegations. The development is expected to intensify political contestation in the constituency.
The NPP has yet to announce a firm date for its parliamentary primaries, though internal competition in key constituencies is already gaining momentum.
