In a heartfelt show of solidarity, the Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, led a delegation to the Flagstaff House to lay flowers in honour of the eight Ghanaians who tragically lost their lives in a military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.

The symbolic act formed part of ongoing national mourning activities and sought to pay homage to the dedicated public servants who died in the crash at Adansi Akrofuom.

Speaking to Atinka News, Elder Nana Tobbin extended heartfelt condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government of Ghana, and, most especially, the bereaved families.

He acknowledged the immense contributions of the deceased to national development and urged the nation to remember them not only for their service but also for their ultimate sacrifice.

He further encouraged all Ghanaians to reflect on life and seek salvation, “which is the surest way of making it to heaven even if we perish on earth.”

The crash claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Muniru Mohammed, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, former Obuasi East parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, and three Ghana Air Force officers – Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

A State Funeral will be held tomorrow, Friday, August 15, at the Black Star Square in Accra, where the nation will bid a final farewell to the eight gallant men.
