A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, Gifty Enam Gbedevi, has urged the government to consider acquiring a new presidential jet for the country, since the one bought in 2008 is now rickety.
She argued that the move could strengthen national stability and reduce long – term cost.
Speaking on the Ghana Nie show, on Atinka tv, Gifty Enam noted that although the purchase of the presidential jet remains a political issue, it may be necessary for the nation because relying on rented jets for presidential travels is not sustainable and adds financial pressure on the state.
She explained that owning a presidential jet would be a more strategic investment ensuring continuity and stability during transitions when a new president takes office.
During the discussion, Enam Gbedevi emphasized the importance of enhancing the National cybersecurity systems.
She stressed the importance of protecting the state information from unauthorized access while ensuring confidentiality and integrity.
Moreover, she urged the Minister of Finance to allocate enough funding for cybersecurity infrastructure in the upcoming budget.
