The Ministry of the Interior says the government has released funds to clear outstanding rent allowance arrears owed to personnel of the Prisons Service, National Fire Service and Immigration Service for 2025.
In a statement released on 2nd March 2026, the ministry acknowledged the patience of affected officers and said the payment process has now been mechanized. Beginning in March 2026, rent allowances will be disbursed alongside monthly salaries.
Officials said the move underscores the government’s commitment to the welfare of security service personnel and its collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to ensure timely fulfillment of entitlements.
