The Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovation (ILAPI) has appointed Desmond Israel Esq. as its new Senior Policy Research Fellow, to strengthen its leadership in business regulation, cyberlaw, digital governance and ultimately advancing a free society.
A legal tech strategist and cybersecurity expert with over 20 years of experience, Israel will lead ILAPI’s Business Regulatory and Cyber law Initiatives. His work will focus on:
– Producing policy research and analysis on governance and reform
– Advising on AI governance, digital risk, and pro-liberty frameworks
– Supporting ILAPI’s flagship projects
– Mentoring junior fellows and interns
Israel’s appointment reflects ILAPI’s commitment to ethical innovation and digital sovereignty. He currently holds several key roles, including:
– Partner at AGNOS Legal Company
– Founder of Information Security Architects Ltd
– Non-Executive Director at Zerone AnalytiQs (Canada)
He holds an LL.M. in National Security and Cybersecurity from George Washington University Law School and is certified in CISSP, CIPM, CCT, and CC. A GW Law Merit Scholar, Israel is also a lecturer in Technology Law at GIMPA and consults with the National Banking College on cyber risk and AI strategy for African financial institutions.
His policy work includes collaborations with the Center for AI and Digital Policy (Washington, D.C.) and the Internet Security Alliance (Virginia).
