Interior Min. imposes dusk-to-dawn curfew on Walewale

The Interior Minister has warned that anyone found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution.

The Interior Ministry has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Walewale and surrounding areas in the North East Region, effective immediately.

The curfew, which will run from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, was announced in a press release on February 15, 2025, following advice from the North East Regional Security Council.

The Ministry has called on local leaders, including Chiefs, Elders, and Youth, to remain calm and engage in peaceful efforts to address the challenges facing the community.

Additionally, a total ban has been placed on carrying arms, ammunition, or offensive weapons in Walewale and its environs.
