GWL Managing Director Begins Stakeholder Consultations; Tamale–Damongo Water Supply Set to Start

The Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Mr Adam Mutawakilu, has paid a courtesy call on the Savannah Regional Minister, Mr Salisu Be-Awuribe, as part of a working visit to the Savannah Region ahead of the commencement of the Tamale–Damongo Water Supply Project.

The visit forms part of a series of stakeholder consultations aimed at officially informing regional authorities and securing their support for the implementation of the project, which is expected to improve access to potable water for communities across the region.

According to Ghana Water Limited, the Tamale–Damongo Water Supply Project is designed to enhance water supply and strengthen water security in the Savannah Region, contributing to improved living conditions and socio-economic development.

As part of his tour, Mr Mutawakilu is expected to engage the Yagbonwura, paramount chiefs, traditional leaders and community members to discuss the government’s plans for the project and gather stakeholder support.

The consultations are intended to promote collaboration among key stakeholders and ensure the smooth implementation of the project. Ghana Water Limited believes the initiative will play a significant role in addressing water supply challenges and meeting the growing demand for safe drinking water in the region.

The Tamale–Damongo Water Supply Project forms part of broader efforts by the government and Ghana Water Limited to expand access to reliable and sustainable water services across the country.
