The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed all aspirants and party members with outstanding financial obligations to settle their dues by June 18, 2026, ahead of the party’s internal elections.
The directive was contained in a circular issued by the party’s National Secretariat and signed by the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance and Administration, following a meeting of the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) held on June 9.
According to the statement issued by the party on Wednesday June 10, 2026, aspirants who fail to regularise their financial obligations by the stipulated deadline will not be allowed to participate in the elections until they have fully settled their dues and obtained the necessary clearance.
“Any aspirants who is not in good standing by the deadline shall not be allowed to participate in the elections until full payment has been made and clearance granted,” the statement said.
The party also announced the timetable for the electoral process. Vetting and elections are scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 11, 2026, while a mop-up exercise will be conducted between July 14 and July 24.
The Elections Committee is expected to finalise the election album from July 29 to August 14, paving the way for the conclusion of the internal electoral process.
The circular, addressed to all regional and constituency executives, urged strict compliance with the timelines and requirements outlined by the party leadership.
The internal elections are expected to fill various party positions at different levels of the NDC’s structure as the party continues efforts to strengthen its organisation and prepare for future political activities.
