The Ministry of Health has announced recruitment opportunities for qualified Ghanaian nurses and specialist physicians to work in Jamaica under a partnership arrangement between the Government of Ghana and the Government of Jamaica.
According to a recruitment advertisement issued by the Ministry on Wednesday June 3, 2026, the initiative seeks to engage healthcare professionals interested in pursuing rewarding careers in Jamaica’s health sector.
The vacancies are open to specialist nurses in Neonatology, Oncology, Critical Care, Nephrology, Emergency and Peri-Operative Nursing, as well as Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives.
The recruitment exercise also targets physicians at the fellowship level, including General Surgeons, Internal Medicine Specialists, Anaesthesiologists, Pathologists, Nephrologists and Cardiologists.
Applicants are required to meet the regulatory requirements of the Medical and Dental Council or the Nursing and Midwifery Council, depending on their profession.
Candidates must also have a minimum of two years’ working experience after completing their post-basic education.
The Ministry has outlined a list of mandatory documents for applicants, including academic certificates, certificates of good standing from the relevant professional regulatory bodies, appointment letters, police clearance certificates, immunisation records, birth certificates, curriculum vitae, reference letters, passport photographs and a valid passport with at least two years’ validity.
Applications opened on June 1, 2026, and will close on June 5, 2026.
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the Ministry of Health’s recruitment portal and present all required documents, including certified copies of their qualifications and professional registrations, on the day of their scheduled interviews.
The Ministry cautioned that incomplete or unsuitable applications will not be acknowledged.
