The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for armed robbers who attacked the team bus of Berekum Chelsea FC, killing one player and injuring others.
According to a statement from the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the incident occurred on Sunday, April 12, at about 10:30 p.m., when six-armed men reportedly ambushed travellers on the highway.

Police say a patrol team responding to distress calls arrived at the scene and found a VIP bus carrying about 30 football players and officials of Berekum Chelsea FC.
The bus, which was travelling from Samreboi to Berekum, had veered off the road into a bush as the driver attempted to escape the attackers. Three of the suspects were said to be wielding pump-action guns.
During the incident, Dominic Frimpong sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where he later died while receiving treatment.
Another victim, George Owusu Afriyie, 52, was robbed of GH¢4,500. Police also retrieved two spent BB cartridges from the scene to aid investigations.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has since deployed additional personnel, including crime scene experts, to the area as part of ongoing efforts to track down the suspects.
Authorities have assured the public that the perpetrators will be arrested and urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with investigations.
