IGP Yohuno Moves to Reposition Police Leadership for Better Policing

The Police Administration confirmed that the reshuffle affects a number of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police who have been redeployed to strategic departments and regional commands.

As part of measures to enhance leadership effectiveness and operational performance, the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has implemented a wide-ranging reassignment of senior police officers with immediate effect.

The Police Administration confirmed that the reshuffle affects a number of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police who have been redeployed to strategic departments and regional commands.

The reshuffle sees COP Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba move from Technology to head NAPD, while COP Iddi Lansah Seidu transfers from Welfare to Technology.

COP Dr Vance Baba Gariba also moves from Operations to Research and Planning under the new postings.

Under the new postings, COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe transitions from Director General of PPSB to Director General of Operations.

DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey assumes responsibility for PPSB after serving as Director General of Research and Planning.

DCOP Eric Ken Winful has been transferred from NAPD to head the Welfare Directorate.

The reshuffle also affects regional commands, with DCOP Charles K. Adu appointed as Eastern Regional Commander.

DCOP Isaac Asante has been moved from the Eastern Region to the National Headquarters, while DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi takes over the Central Region.

DCOP George Ankomah has been reassigned from Central MTTD/Ashanti to head the Eastern North Regional Command.

Under the latest postings, DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo transitions from Director of ICT at the National Headquarters to Commander of the Central MTTD/Ashanti Region.

The Inspector-General of Police explained that the reassignments are part of sustained efforts to strengthen leadership structures, enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery across the Ghana Police Service.
