Voting has closed in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries, with ballot counting underway at polling centers across the country.
Reports from several constituencies flagged alleged vote-buying, prompting party officials and security personnel to step up monitoring. At 2 p.m., the Dental Constituency still had 10 delegates yet to cast their ballots, while La Dade Kotopon Constituency prepared to begin counting at 2:20 p.m., according to Bullet newsroom reporters.
In a handful of areas, individuals using unauthorized body cameras were arrested, raising concerns over compliance with party electoral regulations.
Despite the isolated incidents, the primaries have been largely peaceful and orderly. Party leadership has urged delegates and members to remain calm and vigilant as results are collated.
The NPP reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible process, pledging to investigate and address any reported infractions.
