Chelsea has entered the competition to sign Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, intensifying what has quickly become one of the fiercest transfer battles of the winter window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specialising in transfers, Chelsea made contact on Tuesday to explore the conditions of a potential deal. The move places the London club alongside Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool, all of whom have expressed interest in the Ghanaian international.
Both United and City are understood to have held discussions with Semenyo’s representatives in recent days, weighing the possibility of activating his release clause. Liverpool, meanwhile, has maintained a longer-standing interest, having monitored the player since November.
Semenyo, 24, has emerged as one of Bournemouth’s most influential performers this season. His pace, strength and ability to operate across the forward line have drawn attention from clubs seeking attacking reinforcements. For Bournemouth, his consistency has made him indispensable; for Europe’s elite, it has made him a target.
At the center of negotiations is a release clause reportedly set at £65 million, which expires on January 10. That deadline has added urgency to talks, as clubs consider whether to move quickly or risk losing out in a crowded field
