The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MOGCSP) says it will act on every reported case of abuse, past or present, reaffirming its commitment to protect vulnerable persons across the country.

In a statement issued on November 23, 2025, the Ministry said it is taking all reports seriously, especially as disturbing incidents of abuse continue to surface on social media.

“We want to assure the public that every issue brought to the Ministry’s attention is noted with the utmost seriousness,” the statement said.

Amid growing concern over the welfare of children, women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, many captured in viral videos, the Ministry thanked the public for helping expose such incidents.

“We commend and value the public’s vigilance… we need all hands on deck,” it added, urging citizens to continue reporting cases through official channels.

Support Already Underway for Victims

The Ministry confirmed that several victims identified in recent reports are already receiving help.

These include; psychosocial support, legal assistance and placement in safe shelters, where necessary.

The Ministry further emphasized that it is working closely with the Ghana Police Service, civil society groups, and other relevant agencies to ensure thorough investigations.

“Crime has no expiration,” the Ministry stressed, indicating that perpetrators will be pursued regardless of when the abuse occurred.

Commitment to Transparency

To keep the public informed, MOGCSP says it will provide periodic updates on cases under investigation in partnership with the Police.

The Ministry reiterated its dedication to ensuring justice, protection, and support for all victims of abuse, calling on Ghanaians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or harmful activity affecting vulnerable individuals.
