The Youth for Accountable Governance (YFAG) has called for transparency and restraint in public discourse following recent reports surrounding a luxury vehicle owned by musician Shatta Wale.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the group expressed concern over comments allegedly made by the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, regarding a yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus reportedly linked to an ongoing investigation.

YFAG stated that its independent checks with international vehicle history databases confirm the vehicle in question is legally acquired, has a clean ownership record, and was lawfully imported into Ghana.

The group denied reports that the vehicle is stolen or that any foreign security agencies, including the FBI, have raised concerns about it.

The group further criticised what it described as an “orchestrated media campaign” linking former National Signals Bureau (NSB) boss, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, to the matter.

According to YFAG, there is no evidence connecting Mr. Adu-Boahene to either the vehicle or the artist, and any such claims are unfounded.

Calling for an investigation into the matter, YFAG urged government authorities to address what they allege are efforts to use state institutions for personal or political ends.

The group also appealed to media outlets and commentators to verify facts before publication to prevent the spread of misinformation.

“The EOCO must remain focused on its core mandate of investigating genuine economic and organised crimes,” the statement read, adding that public trust in national institutions must be protected through professionalism and adherence to due process.

The group reiterated its commitment to promoting truth, justice, and accountability and pledged to continue monitoring developments related to the case.
