On Sunday, February 16, Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, the Overlord of Dagbon, made a historic journey to the palace of Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, the King of the Gonja Kingdom.

This landmark visit marked a momentous occasion for both kingdoms, reinforcing a bond built on mutual respect and unity.

The Dagbon King acknowledged the pivotal role the Gonja Kingdom has played in fostering peace within the Dagbon region, highlighting the longstanding relationship between the two kingdoms.

He also took the opportunity to voice his continued support for former President John Dramani Mahama, praising his efforts to reshape and improve the country.

In response, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I noted the ongoing challenges surrounding chieftaincy succession in Ghana, particularly in the northern regions, where these issues continue to spark tension.

Salisu Be-Awuribe, the Savannah Regional Minister, praised the historic visit, noting that it symbolizes a renewed commitment to peace and unity.
