A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics projects a commanding lead for National Democratic Congress candidate Baba Jamal in the Ayawaso East by-election set for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The poll, conducted February 28–March 1 among 972 voters in the constituency, shows Jamal with 75 percent support. His closest rival, Baba Ali of the New Patriotic Party, trails with 21 percent.

Independent candidate Umaru Sanda Muhammed, who recently broke away from the NDC, is forecast to secure about 3 percent. Two other contenders, Ibrahim Iddrisu and David, are each expected to draw less than 1 percent of the vote.

The by-election was triggered by the death in January of sitting lawmaker Mahama Naser Toure, who passed away while receiving treatment at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
