Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has paid a working visit to the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as part of efforts to assess ongoing reforms and strengthen coordination among key institutions driving national development.
The visit forms part of a broader initiative by the Vice President to tour all twenty-three ministries, aimed at bringing the Presidency closer to the ministries while engaging directly with officials responsible for implementing government policies and programmes.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s first stop was the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, where she interacted with management and staff on the ministry’s strategic priorities and ongoing reforms in the energy sector. The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, briefed the Vice President on progress made so far and measures being implemented to ensure reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy delivery.
Commending officials, the Vice President said “the energy sector remains critical to Ghana’s economic transformation, and it is important that policies and reforms are pursued with focus, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.”
She urged the ministry to remain committed to delivering results that directly improve the lives of Ghanaians.
At the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, sector minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to government’s development agenda.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang praised ongoing interventions to protect the country’s natural resources, noting that “effective management of our lands, forests, and minerals is essential to sustainable development and environmental protection.”
She assured the ministry of government’s continued support, adding that “institutions that safeguard our natural resources must be strengthened to deliver lasting economic and social benefits.”
The Vice President further reiterated government’s commitment to strengthening institutions whose work directly impacts economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social stability. She is expected to complete engagements with all twenty-three ministries as part of the exercise.
