As part of its ongoing turnaround maintenance, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has partnered with the Ghana National Ambulance Service (NAS) to enhance emergency medical support at the refinery.
Given the high-risk and non-routine nature of turnaround operations, the collaboration ensures proactive protection of employee health, safety, and wellbeing.
On Tuesday, 26th August 2025, a five-member Emergency Medical Team (EMT) from NAS officially commenced duty at TOR. The team will provide first-line medical care, advanced first aid, patient stabilization, and coordinate referrals and emergency evacuations throughout the exercise.
Beyond immediate medical support, the EMT will also train selected TOR staff in basic first aid and emergency response, fostering a lasting culture of safety and preparedness beyond the maintenance period.
Safety remains a core value at TOR, and management continues to prioritize proactive arrangements and comprehensive risk management to safeguard lives while sustaining operational resilience.
