The Tobinco Group of Companies, one of Ghana’s leading business conglomerates, has joined the rest of the nation in mourning the tragic loss of eight distinguished Ghanaians in a recent helicopter crash.

In an official statement issued by the Executive Chairman of the Group, Elder Nana Samuel Amo Tobin I, the company expressed its “utter dismay” at the heartbreaking news of the crash, which claimed the lives of two cabinet ministers, three senior government officials, and three esteemed flight officers of the Ghana Air Force.

Describing the incident as a “chilling and devastating happening,” the Executive Chairman stated that the entire Group has been shaken by the tragedy since it occurred on Wednesday.

“This is an extremely unfortunate and colossal loss to the entire country,” the statement read. “These vibrant men who were on a national assignment held great value to the nation and its development.”

On behalf of the Tobinco Group, the Executive Chairman extended the company’s “deepest grief and heartfelt condolences” to His Excellency the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, as well as to members of government, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to you in solidarity in this difficult time of national disaster,” he said. “May the good Lord Himself comfort and strengthen you in this tragedy. May the gentle souls of our gallant compatriots rest in perfect peace.”

The nation continues to grapple with the scale of the loss, as tributes pour in from across the country and beyond.
