The Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Samuel Amo Tobbin I, joined thousands of mourners at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday to pay his final respects to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, during the third day of funeral observance.
Elder Tobbin, who also serves as the Dwantuahene of the Apinto Traditional area in the Western Region, arrived at the palace with a high-powered delegation made up of Managing Directors from the various subsidiaries under the Tobinco Group companies.
The team joined state officials, business leaders, members of the judiciary, and top security officers who have all taken turns to mourn the late Queen Mother.
Known for his strong belief in upholding national values and traditions, Elder Tobbin’s presence was widely noted and appreciated by Authorities and bystanders. His gesture reflected not only his ties to traditional leadership but also his reputation as a respected corporate leader with a strong sense of national identity.
Earlier this year, Elder Samuel Amo Tobbin I was honoured with the Pharmaceutical Excellence Award at the 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards, presented by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his outstanding contribution to the growth of the pharmaceutical industry in Ghana and beyond.
Elder Nana Samuel Amo Tobbin’s attendance is yet another testament to the strong ties between Ghana’s business community and the country’s traditional institutions especially the Asanteman.
The funeral of Nana Konadu Yiadom III has attracted massive national attention, with the Manhyia Palace becoming the center of traditional activities throughout the week. The late Queen Mother, who served with distinction, is being remembered for her commitment to the Asante Kingdom and her influence in national affairs.
