This marks a new chapter for Tems, whose influence continues to extend far beyond the music industry.

Nigerian music sensation Tems is making history once again, this time off the stage.

The two-time Grammy-winning artist has announced that she is now a co-owner of Major League Soccer’s San Diego FC, becoming the first African female to join an MLS ownership group.

Tems shared the exciting news on social media on February 12, 2025, revealing her new role with the club.

In a statement, San Diego FC’s chairman, Sir Mohamed Mansour, confirmed the partnership, noting that Tems had joined the ownership group through her company, The Leading Vibe.

“We are delighted that Tems has joined San Diego FC as a club partner,” Mansour said. “Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project, which has its roots in sub-Saharan Africa through the Right to Dream organization.”

Tems expressed her enthusiasm for the new venture, emphasizing the club’s commitment to creativity, culture, and community.

“I am thrilled to join San Diego FC’s ownership group and to be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community,” she said. “Football has a unique way of bringing people together, and I am excited to help build something special in San Diego, a city that thrives on diversity and innovation.”

The singer now joins a group of influential figures whose personal stories and achievements align with the values of both San Diego FC and the Right to Dream Academy, an initiative rooted in Africa.
