Taptap Send, Top Connect, Remit Choice, Send App, and Afriex are the five Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) whose remittance relationships have been suspended by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) from September 18, 2025. One month will be the duration of the suspension, the Central Bank said.
Affected organizations violated the Guidelines for Inward Remittance Services by Payment Service Providers, 2023, as amended by Notice No. BG/GOV/SEC/2025/25, according to a statement released by the BoG on Thursday, September 4.
Via its settlement bank, UBA Ghana, the breaches entailed carrying out unauthorized remittance transactions with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) Halges Financial Technologies Limited, Cellulant Limited, and Flutterwave Inc.
Only once their partner PSPs or banks reapply for approval—subject to the bank’s evaluation at the conclusion of the suspension period—will the suspended operators be permitted to restart remittance services, according to the BoG.
Additionally, the central bank issued a warning to participants in the foreign currency market to adhere closely to all rules and regulations pertaining to forex operations.
