A fire outbreak at Tantra Hill Court Pub in Accra has destroyed more than 50 shops and homes, leaving dozens of residents and business owners devastated.
The blaze, which began around 1 p.m. on Monday, 17 February 2025, quickly spread after multiple gas cylinders exploded, engulfing much of the area in flames.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly, but by the time the fire was brought under control, significant damage had already been done.
No casualties were reported, but preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by unattended children playing with fire.
Some of the victims told journalists they lost everything to the fire.
