Ghana’s Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced plans to reintroduce road and bridge tolls as part of efforts to generate revenue for road maintenance and infrastructure development.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 6 February 2025, the Ministry said it would implement a modern, technology-driven toll collection system designed to improve efficiency and convenience for motorists.
Further details on the new system will be outlined in due course, the statement added.
The Ministry pledged to ensure an open, transparent, and competitive procurement process to establish the system in a cost-effective and fair manner.
