Prof. Alidu Seidu Mahama has emerged victorious in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries held ahead of the upcoming Tamale Central by-election.

Prof. Mahama secured a commanding lead with 840 votes, far outpacing his closest contender, Abdul Hanna Gundado, who polled 536 votes.

The full results are as follows:

1. Prof. Alidu Seidu Mahama – 840 votes

2. Abdul Hanna Gundado – 536

3. Dr. Seidu Fiter Mohammed – 43

4. Ing. Aliu Abdul Hamid – 23

5. Alhassan Mbalba – 10
