On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Ghanaian TikTok sensation Osanju, known off-screen as Elvis Frimpong, tragically passed away in his sleep, sending shockwaves across the online community. Just hours earlier, he had shared a video expressing frustration over Barcelona’s 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano, seemingly healthy but clearly disappointed. The suddenness of his death stunned fans and followers alike.

Reports indicate that Osanju had been privately battling serious health challenges, with symptoms affecting his blood’s ability to clot. In earlier interviews, he had candidly revealed the emotional and financial toll of his illness, saying, “My blood is clotting, and I’m yet to figure out what is causing this… I had to sell my personal belongings to pay for my medical bills. Through TikTok, kind people donated money to help me buy my medicines.”

Although the official cause of death has not been confirmed, many believe his condition is suspected to be a blood-related disease, such as leukaemia, that played a critical role. Reports suggest that the content creator’s remains have since been taken to a morgue for further examination.

News of Osanju’s passing sent an immediate wave of grief across social media. Fellow creators, fans, and close collaborators flooded his pages with tributes and expressions of disbelief. Content creator and close friend Oheneba Jude was among the first to publicly grieve, sharing photos of himself beside Osanju from the funeral of his late mother earlier in the year, emphasizing the deep personal bond between the two. His emotional caption, “God, why 😭,” mirrored the sentiments of many.

Such heartfelt responses showed just how impactful Osanju had been in the digital sphere. His candidness in sharing his health struggle and his creative flair had earned him not just followers but genuine admiration, making this loss deeply felt.

Osanju rose to fame with comedic skits that often featured his beloved mother, Veronica Frimpong, affectionately known as “Amonu”, who died earlier in January 2025. Her loss was a deeply personal blow, and Osanju’s openness about grief and illness resonated with many who admired his courage.

Despite ongoing battles with his health, he remained dedicated to content creation, using humour and vulnerability to connect with his audience. His resilience inspired many and reminded viewers of the healing power of authenticity even on social media.
