Hollistar Duah-Yentumi was expected to hand over to Mr James Agyenim-Boateng

Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, the former Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, has filed a lawsuit against the company and its newly appointed MD, Mr James Agyenim-Boateng.

The suit follows President John Dramani Mahama’s announcement on January 27, naming Agyenim-Boateng as Duah-Yentumi’s successor.

However, Duah-Yentumi is challenging the appointment in a legal action filed on February 4.

Duah-Yentumi contends that under the terms of her employment agreement, her tenure as MD is set to run until January 1, 2028, unless otherwise agreed by the company’s board of directors.

She argues that her contract stipulates that her employment can only be terminated by the board or through a shareholder decision at an Annual General Meeting (AGM).

In her suit, Duah-Yentumi is seeking a declaration from the High Court that her termination was unlawful and violated the terms of her employment contract.

Additionally, she is challenging the legality of Agyenim-Boateng’s appointment as MD.

Duah-Yentumi’s legal team is also demanding compensation for her full salary and benefits for the remainder of her contract
