As Ghana prepares for the next round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying tournament, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged composure and concentration. Some players have already arrived in Ghana ahead of training camp, while the national squad has regrouped in Accra.
Despite the optimism around Ghana’s possibilities, Addo emphasised the need to avoid complacency in his remarks before the qualifications.
“We are in a good situation, and I hope that we can do everything to qualify. We have to take it step by step; we can’t make a mistake. A lot of people are talking about the World Cup already, but it’s still a long way,” he said.
From September 1–9, 2025, Ghana will next play Chad on Matchday 7 and then Mali on Matchday 8. The Chad fixture is the immediate emphasis, Addo underlined. “The next is the focus on the Chad game and I hope that we can win.”
With training scheduled to start on September 1, the Black Stars are presently in a strong position in their qualifying group.
