New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Matthew Nyindam is narrowly ahead in the upcoming Kpandai parliamentary rerun, according to a survey released Sunday by Global InfoAnalytics.
The poll shows Nyindam with 50% of voter support, edging out his closest rival, National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Daniel Nsala Wakpal, who has 46%. Independent candidate Donkor Eric Nipani is projected to secure about 1% of the vote, while 3% of respondents remain undecided.
Nyindam’s lead falls within the survey’s ±3.9% margin of error, underscoring the tight nature of the race. The findings suggest limited voter movement, with about 2% of Nyindam’s previous supporters shifting to Wakpal, and an equal percentage of Wakpal’s backers moving to Nyindam.
The poll also highlights a notable transfer of support from Nipani, with 28% of his former supporters now favoring Nyindam. Analysts say this shift has contributed to Nyindam’s current marginal advantage.
Global InfoAnalytics noted that while the contest remains highly competitive, Nyindam retains a slight edge. The survey emphasized that turnout and voter mobilization will be critical in determining the outcome of the rerun, scheduled for Dec. 30, 2025
