The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) says it intends to march on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, against the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for withholding and cancelling the results of some students who sat for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 18, NUGS said: “This demonstration is a protest against what we see as an injustice and an abuse of discretionary power by WAEC.”
“NUGS demands urgent intervention to rectify this situation and ensure that affected students are given a fair opportunity to continue their education.”
“We call on all affected students, parents, concerned stakeholders, and all students to join us in this fight for justice,” the statement urged.
“Even for those whose results have been released, the delay has rendered them ineligible for admission into public tertiary institutions, as all admission processes have now been concluded,” it added.
