The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has paid a visit to the headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to express condolences following the tragic military helicopter crash on August 6, which claimed eight lives.

The NPP delegation was led by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong and National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye, among other senior officials.

During the visit, Mr. Kodua extended his party’s sympathies to the NDC and distanced the NPP from comments and social media posts made by its affiliates in the aftermath of the Adansi Akrofuom crash.

“This is the first time the New Patriotic Party has come to your office and it’s rather unfortunate that it didn’t come at a good time but it should also mark the beginning of a friendly and cordial relationship between the NDC and New Patriotic Party” He said.

Mr. Kodua also issued a formal apology to the NDC saying “So Mr. Chairman if anything came from our side I want to on behalf our party apologize to the NDC and through you to the president His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, it is not the position of the New Patriotic Party and will never condone such activity from anyone who makes those comments’

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, expressed appreciation to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its show of solidarity following the helicopter crash.

“This moment transcends politics,” he said, noting that he received calls from both current and former NPP leaders, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in the aftermath of the incident.

He emphasized that the NPP’s presence was a powerful gesture of unity, adding, “Though this tragedy has struck us all, it also offers a chance to come together.
