Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured Ghanaians of world-class development under his presidency, pointing to his track record of innovation and technological advancement as Vice President as evidence of what is possible.
Dr. Bawumia gave the assurance as he wrapped up his campaign tour of the Bono East Region, where he visited all eleven constituencies. The final leg of the tour took him to Techiman North and South, where he interacted with party delegates and supporters.
Highlighting his achievements in government, Dr. Bawumia said Ghana had made major strides in digital transformation through initiatives such as the Ghana Card and Mobile Money Interoperability.
He noted that the Ghana Card had placed Ghana ahead of many advanced countries, including the UK, which is now seeking to introduce a similar national identification system.
However, Former Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development and MP for Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, called on New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to rally behind Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the most viable candidate to lead the party to victory in the 2028 general elections.
