Following the unexplained destruction of their warehouse construction site on Spintex Road, three McDan Group executives have been arrested by National Security. Journalist Carlos Calony was also detained during the story’s coverage.
National Security has detained three senior McDan Group officials after bulldozers destroyed their warehouse construction site on Spintex Road in Accra. Soon after the demolition incident, security guards surrounded the site, which they had designated a “National Security Zone.”
The arrests took place shortly after that. The warehouse, which is still partially constructed, is associated with business mogul Daniel McKorley, also known as McDan.
The precise cause of the demolition is still unknown, but on Wednesday, armed soldiers were seen on camera attacking a bystander who was being interviewed by a JoyNews reporter on the scene, which escalated the situation.
When JoyNews reporter Carlos Calony was also arrested by National Security agents while covering the story, the situation took an even more concerning turn. Why he was picked up by these security guards is unknown.
