The National Chief Imam, Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has extended warm congratulations to Muslims across the country while calling for deeper spiritual reflection and national cohesion as they mark Eid al-Fitr 2026.

In a message dated March 19, 2026, the revered Islamic leader reminded the Muslim faithful that the end of Ramadan should not only be a period of celebration but also a moment for introspection and renewed commitment to moral values.

He urged that festivities be observed with decency, modesty, and respect for the laws of the land.

According to the Chief Imam, the essence of fasting, as prescribed in the Quran, is to cultivate piety among believers—an outcome he said must be reflected in everyday conduct.

“The quantity of spiritual cleansing acquired in the Holy Month of Ramadan is meaningless unless it has the capacity to guarantee the quality of attitudinal transformation in the interest of society,” he stated.

His message reinforces the importance of translating spiritual discipline into positive social behaviour, as Muslims celebrate the successful completion of the fasting period.
