NAIMOS personnel further secured additional strategic sites surrounding the Obuasi Airport, following reports of galamsey operations in the area. The raids resulted in the seizure of motorbikes, vehicles, water pumps, and other mining tools, as well as the destruction of makeshift facilities constructed for illegal mining.

Although the majority of the miners fled upon the taskforce’s arrival, one individual identified as a suspected ringleader in the Obuasi operations was apprehended. He remains in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations and potential legal action.
