For Omotola, the experience serves as a reminder that true beauty goes beyond the surface, and as she continues to heal, her confidence only grows stronger.

Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has candidly shared an update on her journey toward healing after undergoing gallbladder removal surgery, revealing the emotional and physical scars she now carries.

In an Instagram post on February 15, 2025, the award-winning actress reflected on the changes to her body following the life-saving procedure. Though she acknowledged that her tummy once a source of pride is no longer the same, she made it clear that her confidence remains intact.

“Late last year, I underwent emergency surgery, and while my tummy was one of my best features, it’s not so perfect now,” Omotola confessed in the heartfelt video, which accompanied a photoshoot.

The actress, who first disclosed her health struggles in November 2024, emphasized the significance of survival over aesthetics, adding, “I smiled and danced. I’m alive, it’s just scars. Some scars are physical, some are emotional.”

She also shared a moment from the photoshoot where, while adjusting her top, she heard a small voice in her head telling her that her body had changed. “Not me!

What will shake my confidence has not been created,” she said, showing her resilience and determination to embrace her new reality.
