MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to cultural preservation and community development with a donation to the Ada Traditional Council in support of the 88th Ada Asafotufiami Festival.
Rooted in the rich warrior traditions of the Ada people, the Asafotufiami Festival has, for decades, stood as a powerful symbol of unity, bravery, and cultural heritage. As the 2025 edition unfolds, MTN joins the people of Ada in celebrating a legacy that bridges generations and honors both ancestral resilience and contemporary identity.
As part of its annual support, MTN presented a cash donation of GH¢30,000, MTN airtime worth GH¢2,000, and drinks hamper to contribute to the festival’s success. In addition, the company will set up experience centers at key locations during the festivities to provide personalized services and engage with customers.
Speaking at the presentation, MTN representatives highlighted the importance of traditional festivals in preserving Ghana’s cultural identity. “We believe festivals like Asafotufiami are not only key to maintaining our cultural heritage but also instrumental in boosting local tourism and economic development,” the company noted.
“For the past 18 years, MTN has proudly supported the Ada Asafotufiami Festival, underscoring our unwavering commitment to enriching lives and empowering communities,” the statement continued. “We remain dedicated to our collaboration with the Ada Traditional Council to ensure the continued success and preservation of this historic celebration.”
Beyond the celebration, MTN’s engagement this year includes community outreach focused on digital education and security. The company will lead sessions on MoMo fraud awareness and the use of digital tools such as the MyMTN App, further strengthening ties with residents in the Ada area.
The donation and initiatives form part of MTN’s broader efforts to express gratitude for the loyalty and patronage of its customers in the Ada community and beyond.
