MASLOC Retrieves Three Government Vehicles from Chairman Wontumi

The Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Abigail Elorm Mensah, has confirmed the retrieval of three government vehicles from the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Abigail Elorm Mensah, has confirmed the retrieval of three government vehicles from the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

Speaking in an interview, Ms. Mensah revealed that the operation was carried out with the assistance of National Security operatives as part of a broader initiative to recover government assets from individuals who have defaulted on their obligations.

Ms. Mensah explained that MASLOC’s procedures mandate the return of vehicles or repayment of loans from beneficiaries who fail to meet their obligations or misuse public resources.

She further disclosed that MASLOC has reported multiple instances of asset misappropriation to the police as part of efforts to protect public property.

Citing another instance, the CEO mentioned a case involving a relative of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. According to her, the individual, identified as Seidu Imoro, had refused to return a government-issued Nissan Urvan after acquiring a personal vehicle.

The MASLOC CEO emphasized that the Centre remains committed to ensuring accountability and the responsible use of state assets and will continue to pursue defaulters to recover loans and government property.
