Recent polls conducted by TMG Research & Investigative Desk indicate that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leads the race to become the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
According to the survey, 37% of respondents prefer Bawumia to lead the party, compared to 33% for his main rival, Ken.

The poll also shows that 53% of Ghanaians believe Bawumia is most likely to secure the NPP flagbearer position in the upcoming primaries on Saturday, while 31% tipped Ken as the probable winner.

Additionally, the survey revealed that 51% of respondents are following the NPP’s internal primary process “very closely,” highlighting strong public interest in the party’s leadership contest.

TMG Research’s findings provide insight into public sentiment as the NPP approaches a critical stage in selecting its candidate for the 2028 general elections.
