President John Mahama has signed a book of condolence at the Namibian High Commission in Accra, honoring the legacy of Sam Nujoma, Namibia’s first President, who passed away recently.

On February 19, Mahama penned a heartfelt message, lauding Nujoma as a “Liberation Comrade” who had fought valiantly for the dignity and freedom of his people and all of Africa.

“You have truly fought a good fight, and now is the time for the faithful soldier to lay down his arm and take a rest. Namibia is truly grateful to you, and Africa is truly grateful to you for the dignity and freedom we enjoy as a people,” Mr Mahama wrote.

He concluded with a call for solidarity, saying, “Rest in peace, soldier, Sam Nujoma. Long live Africa and Namibia solidarity.”
